A Journey Into Pure Consciousness
Awakened in Egypt:
How Sacred Sites and Ancient Wisdom Sparked a Path to Inner Clarity
In 2000, I travelled to Egypt with my husband. It was a dream long held—and also a pivotal point in our lives. Behind the wonder and adventure was a deeply personal journey. After years of trying to conceive, I was tired, emotionally worn, and unsure of what would come next.
I had always believed a soul would choose us, in its own time. But the pressure of well-meaning family and friends, the conversations around IVF, and the quiet ache of waiting had worn me down.
What I didn’t expect was that our trip to Egypt would spark not only a natural conception—but the beginning of a deeper spiritual awakening.
The Power of Place
Research shows that geography can shape our consciousness. Culture, history, and natural environments all influence the way we think, feel, and connect. This concept, sometimes called geographical consciousness, recognizes that certain places carry a kind of energetic resonance—a capacity to evoke insight and awareness.
Egypt was that place for me.
We journeyed down the Nile, visiting ancient temples that held both mystery and memory. It was at the Temple of Horus in Edfu where something shifted. A simple ritual, quietly performed, opened something inside me. I felt peace. A deep knowing. And not long after, we conceived—naturally.
But the real transformation was just beginning.
Discovering the Hermetic Principles
That experience led me to explore the spiritual and philosophical traditions connected to those sacred sites. I discovered the Hermetic Principles, attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, a figure representing both Egyptian and Greek wisdom.
These seven principles are more than historical ideas—they are universal truths that still apply to our lives today:
1. Mentalism – All is mind. Consciousness shapes reality.
2. Correspondence – As within, so without. Inner states reflect outer experiences.
3. Vibration – Everything moves and vibrates. Energy is constant.
4. Polarity – Opposites exist on the same spectrum. Duality is an invitation to grow.
5. Rhythm – Life flows in cycles. Surrendering to rhythm brings harmony.
6. Cause and Effect – Nothing is random. We are both creators and participants.
7. Gender – All life contains both masculine and feminine energies. Balance is power.
These principles mirrored what I felt in those sacred places—the sense of order in nature, the subtle energy of ancient architecture, and the living intelligence beneath it all.
Sacred Geometry and the Patterns of Life
Many of the Hermetic teachings are reflected in sacred geometry—patterns like spirals, the Flower of Life, and the golden ratio. These are not just visual symbols; they represent the very blueprint of life.
From the branching of trees to the structure of ancient temples, these forms remind us that we are part of a living, breathing, ordered universe. A universe that is conscious.
In this view, Nature is not separate from the sacred—it is the sacred made visible. This perspective aligns closely with pantheism: the idea that the divine is not outside of us, but present in all things. In the rivers. The stars. The silence between thoughts.
The Birth of Pure Consciousness
Since that moment in Egypt, it has been my mission to journey to many sacred sites across the globe: from Australia, New Zealand to Asia (Thailand, Bali, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar) , Europe (Croatia, Spain, England, Greece, Italy, Romania, Czechlovakia) to Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, the Caribbean, Europe, and across the United States, including Arizona, Monument Valley, Death Valley, the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, Upstate New York, and West Virginia.
Each location brought a new piece of insight, a new layer of awareness. I explored Buddhism, Hinduism, indigenous wisdom, and Earth-based spirituality. What emerged is a non-denominational path I now share with others:
I live in Australia, home to the oldest continuous Indigenous culture in the world. This deep cultural and spiritual heritage, grounded in reverence for the land and ancestral wisdom, has also profoundly shaped the Pure Consciousness modality. The way Indigenous Australians understand connection to Country, spirit, and Dreaming reflects a kind of living consciousness that resonates strongly with the principles I’ve encountered across the globe.
Pure Consciousness is not a belief system. It is a space within—a still, intelligent awareness beneath your thoughts, your stories, and your identities. It’s the place where healing begins. Where clarity and curiousity rises. Where the sacred is not something you seek, but something you remember.
This modality is rooted in direct experience, not doctrine. It honors the sacred found in all traditions, in all places, and within each of us.
